Cherry Pop: Mafia Music – The Hype Magazine
Straight out of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, emerging talent Cherry Pop unveils her dynamic new music video for “Mafia Music,” featuring Moone Walker from Florida. Recognized as The Carolinas’ Lady Ross by the Coalition DJs Carolina Chapter, Cherry Pop brings a fusion of commanding energy, insightful lyricism, and Southern allure that demands attention.
Relocating to Atlanta, Cherry Pop made a courageous decision to uproot her life and children to chase her musical aspirations full-time. Her path commenced modestly at New Music Wednesday in 808 Studios, where her sound captivated audiences. Armed with a background in songwriting and shaped by strict parental values, Cherry Pop once concealed her lyrical prowess. However, inspired by rap icons such as Rick Ross, Jay-Z, and Missy Elliott, she discovered her voice—a voice that resonates powerfully.
In December 2024, Cherry Pop inked a management deal with Zoe of MMG (Maybach Music Group), pledging her allegiance to the esteemed MMG brand she holds in high regard. Infusing her unique take on Ross’s trademark “Uh” adlib, she asserts that this is not mimicry but a tribute infused with her own identity.
“Mafia Music” serves as just the beginning. Her forthcoming album, “The Awakening,” teases 8 eclectic tracks brimming with passion, emotion, and impactful collaborations. Cherry Pop’s versatility is undeniable, and the time for her to shine is now.
