Music School Hosts Battle of the Bands – Euro Weekly News
On the 26th of July, the Boulevard Auditorium in San Pedro Alcántara will showcase the 11th edition of the Battle of the Bands, turning into the hub of school children’s rock music. Rock Factory organizes this event, which stands out as the largest children’s rock festival in the country. Expect 46 bands to grace the stage, predominantly consisting of young musicians aged 8 to 18, with a sprinkle of adult groups, all hailing from the Costa del Sol region. These budding rockstars will display their evolving musical prowess and stage presence.
This vibrant spectacle isn’t just a mere competition; it is a family-friendly fiesta that offers live raffles, enticing prizes, including musical instruments and goodies from sponsors. With 20,000 watts of amps, 30,000 watts of lighting rigs, 46 competing bands, a panel of prominent Costa del Sol rock figures, and thousands of enthusiastic fans, this free festival is swiftly becoming the national gold standard in children’s music events.
Guests can relish an array of activities, from an enticing food stall by La Bocatería to an artistic creativity tent courtesy of Arte Sonsoles, a virtual reality arena by Área VR, a refreshing drinks bar, and bouncy castles for the little ones to frolic on.
This year’s offering at the Battle of the Bands promises an awe-inspiring audiovisual and lighting setup. The event will be hosted by Miguel Ángel González (Mimosín), alongside co-host María Shislo, who will engage the audience with backstage interviews, challenges, and live connections to capture the behind-the-scenes fervor.
An acclaimed jury, featuring standout local bands Safety Last and Mutación from Parauta, will assess performances and dole out accolades to the standout acts. Entry is free, but space is limited, so it’s recommended to arrive early to secure your spot.
