The Living End recently unveiled information about their ninth studio record titled ‘I Only Trust Rock n Roll’, a release that lands just two days shy of the seven-year anniversary of their last album ‘Wunderbar’.

Throughout 2025, The Living End has been gradually introducing new tracks to their fans. The initial singles ‘Alfie’ and ‘Strange Place’ paved the way, leading up to the unveiling of the title track from their upcoming album.

Describing this latest album as stripped-down and straightforward, band member Chris Cheney expressed a desire to avoid the grandeur of previous records, aiming for a more refined sound. “We didn’t want the record to feel overcrowded with unnecessary elements. We’ve explored that territory before. This time, we wanted it to flow seamlessly, like a well-oiled machine. While we incorporated harmonies and additional guitar parts, a significant aspect of the songwriting process involved recognizing what each track didn’t require.”

The tracklist of ‘I Only Trust Rock n Roll’ includes songs like ‘Private Hell’, ‘Rain The Parade’, ‘Don’t Tell Me’, and ‘Gypsy Blood’, encompassing a diverse range of themes and emotions within its 11 tracks.

Band member Andy Strachan likened the experience of their live performances to a strenuous workout, emphasizing the group’s dedication to leaving it all on the stage after they perform. Scott Owen echoed this sentiment, underlining the importance of crafting a show that is grounded in authenticity, devoid of gimmicks, and highlights the power of their collective musicality.

Accompanying the album’s release, The Living End will hit the road for a new tour that promises a unique experience for fans. The band will play two sets per night during the tour, with the second set dedicated to performing their self-titled debut album from 1998 in its entirety.

The tour schedule includes performances at iconic venues such as Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, Live At The Gardens in Melbourne, and the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, offering fans an opportunity to witness the evolution of The Living End’s sound over the years.
