Indie band Breakup Shoes recently revealed that they will be launching their upcoming album, “Standing Still,” in October. The band’s 10-track album was expertly produced by Charlie Brand of Miniature Tigers. Lead vocalist and guitarist Nick Zawisa shared his thoughts on the album, stating that it is a reflection of his experiences over the past few years, all while navigating feelings of dissatisfaction with the status quo. Zawisa expressed his desire for change and ultimately found solace in uprooting his life. Collaborating with producer Charlie Brand was an enriching experience for the band, as he greatly influenced the album’s sound and focused on maintaining the confessional storytelling that defines Breakup Shoes’ music.

The arrival of a new single, “Brainwash,” from the upcoming album brings with it a music video directed by Braxton Apana. Zawisa delved into the meaning behind the song, explaining that it delves deep into themes of self-loathing. While the track is upbeat with an indie-sleaze vibe, it speaks to the desire to start fresh and eliminate past memories in order to become a better version of oneself. Whether shedding bad habits or negative traits, “Brainwash” conveys the notion of a clean slate and the opportunity for personal growth.

In support of “Standing Still,” Breakup Shoes will be hitting the road this fall, joining forces with Felly for a nationwide tour. Fans can catch the band at various venues across North America, including stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, and more. Tickets for the tour are currently available for purchase.

The tracklist for “Standing Still” includes songs such as “Moving On Is Hard,” “The Suburbs,” “Universal,” and more. The album promises a introspective journey through themes of personal growth, nostalgia, and introspection, alongside Breakup Shoes’ signature sound.

With their highly-anticipated new album on the horizon and an extensive tour planned, Breakup Shoes is gearing up to captivate audiences with their introspective storytelling and infectious sound. Stay tuned for the release of “Standing Still” on October 10 and catch the band on tour this fall.
