Five Finger Death Punch has once again achieved a remarkable feat in the music industry. Their latest single, “I Refuse,” has climbed to the number one spot on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, marking their 12th consecutive chart-topper. This achievement brings their total number of number one singles to an impressive 16. The song features guest vocals from Maria Brink of In This Moment and has garnered widespread popularity across various music charts.

Maria Brink expressed her excitement about the collaboration on Instagram, stating, “We are excited to announce the unveiling of the new @5fdp song I Refuse… We feel blessed to be a part of this.” Originally released in 2018, “I Refuse” has been re-recorded and included in the band’s compilation album, Best Of (Volume 1), which was released on July 18. The track has also made its mark on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, reaching number 15 and attracting 2.3 million listeners.

Despite being a re-imagined version of their 2018 hit, “I Refuse” has managed to breathe new life into the original track from their album And Justice for None. The song has quickly gained traction, landing at number 25 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and accumulating 370,000 US streams in just one week from July 4 to 10. Five Finger Death Punch’s previous chart-topper, “This Is the Way,” maintained its position at the top for two weeks in June 2024.

Since their first number one hit, “Coming Down,” in 2012, Five Finger Death Punch has consistently dominated the rock music scene. Their winning streak began with “Sham Pain” in 2018, setting a new record for consecutive number one singles on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Only two bands surpass them in the chart’s 44-year history, with Shinedown boasting 20 number one hits and Three Days Grace following closely with 19. This accomplishment also marks a significant milestone for Maria Brink, as “I Refuse” represents her first time topping any airplay chart, despite reaching number six with “Oh Lord” in 2017.
