The Foo Fighters have achieved the top spot on Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with their latest track, “Today’s Song,” marking their 12th No. 1 on the chart. This accomplishment surpasses both Green Day and Linkin Park, who have each had eight No. 1 hits on the same chart. The band’s previous chart-topper, “Under You,” held the position for six weeks in 2023. “Today’s Song” has not only reached No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart but has also made significant strides on other Billboard charts. The song has climbed ten spots to secure the sixth position on the Alternative Airplay chart and has jumped 14 places to claim the 10th spot on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Additionally, it debuted at No. 32 on the Adult Alternative chart. With this latest success, Foo Fighters have set a new record for the most career Top 10 hits on the Alternative Airplay chart, with “Today’s Song” becoming their 32nd. They also hold the record for the most Top 10 hits on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, now standing at 33. “Today’s Song” was released as a standalone single in honor of the 30th anniversary of the self-titled debut album by Foo Fighters. This achievement underscores the band’s enduring popularity and continued success in the music industry.
