The Boyz anticipates their new album ‘a;effect’ will bring even more heat this summer
Amidst the scorching sun of Korea’s summer, The Boyz is gearing up to release their 10th EP, “a;effect,” hoping to counter the heat with even more intensity in their music. Scheduled for launch on Monday at 6 p.m., the album, managed by agency One Hundred Label, boasts the lead track “Stylish,” characterized by pop vibes intertwined with minimalist hip-hop beats.
This upcoming project marks The Boyz’s first album in four months following their third full-length album, “Unexpected.” In a written interview by their agency, the band members shared their excitement about their new musical direction. Younghoon expressed his personal views on “Stylish,” considering it to be highly addictive. On the other hand, Eric emphasized the confidence and allure present in the song’s lyrics and choreography, noting that despite not being a love song, it has captivated them nonetheless.
The album, “a;effect,” also includes a subunit track termed “Constellation.” Described as a rock band piece, this song sees Kevin on keyboards and Q trying his hand at playing the guitar for the first time. Jacob admitted that embracing the rock band genre has always been a personal aspiration of his. Kevin’s choice of the title “Constellation” for the track stems from its Korean translation, which celebrates both the elegant and imperfect beauty encompassed in the song’s essence.
Furthermore, Kevin was also the brains behind the album’s moniker, “a;effect.” The title’s inspiration came from combining the verb “affect” with the noun “effect,” symbolizing the band’s aspiration for their music to resonate beyond boundaries, making a positive influence on their listeners and fans.
The Boyz is gearing up to launch their world tour titled “The Blaze” in Seoul on August 8th. This high-anticipated tour is set to unravel a new chapter in their musical journey, captivating audiences globally with their fresh sound and enthralling performances.
