In Pennsylvania, the Heat Advisory includes northern Delaware, central, northern, northwest, and southern New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania. The heat index values are expected to reach up to 104 degrees during this period. Areas such as Upper Bucks County, Western Montgomery County, and other regions are urged to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Similarly, New Jersey is also under a Heat Advisory, with heat index values up to 103 degrees expected in counties like Sussex, Warren, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, Eastern Chester, and Western Chester. To stay safe during this period, it is crucial to drink plenty of fluids, stay indoors in air-conditioned rooms, avoid direct sunlight, and keep an eye out for symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wearing light and loose clothing, limiting strenuous activities to cooler parts of the day, and taking breaks in shaded or air-conditioned locations are also recommended to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration suggests scheduling frequent rest breaks for those engaged in outdoor activities and moving anyone showing signs of heat stroke to a cool, shaded area immediately. If someone experiences heat-related emergencies, it is important to call 911 for immediate medical assistance.

With the Heat Advisory in place, residents of these regions are urged to take the necessary precautions to safeguard themselves and others from heat-related illnesses. By staying informed and following the recommended guidelines, individuals can mitigate the risks associated with the high temperatures and humidity levels. Keeping cool, hydrated, and aware of the symptoms of heat-related illnesses is crucial during this advisory period.
