Sinsaenum release latest single “Obsolete and Broken”
Sinsaenum has dropped their latest single, titled “Obsolete and Broken,” which is part of their upcoming album In Devastation set to release on August 8 through earMUSIC. The band’s new track combines aggressive riffs with clean melodic vocals, showcasing a shift in their musical style. This release marks their first material following the passing of drummer Joey Jordison and guitarist Frédéric Leclercq’s father. The current line-up comprises Attila Csihar, Sean Zatorsky, Stéphane Buriez, Heimoth, and drummer Andre Joyzi. The album, produced by Lasse Lammert, is being touted as Sinsaenum’s most ambitious work to date.
Frédéric Leclercq expressed his thoughts on the new song: “‘Obsolete and Broken’ is one the first songs I wrote for this new album. In my opinion, it has all the elements that define our new direction. It is melodic yet aggressive, it has intricate/technical parts, the bridge has clean vocals and guitar, and I’m particularly proud of the solo section which took me quite a while to get right. Lyrically, the song is more sci-fi based, which is also unusual for us.”
