After facing a surprising cancellation last year, the two-day music extravaganza known as Harvest Rock is gearing up to make a triumphant return on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26, 2025. The festival brings together a diverse mix of both international and Australian musical talents, fused with the finest offerings South Australia has in food and wine.

While the reasons behind the festival’s hiatus in 2024 were not explicitly stated by the organizers, it is no secret that economic challenges stemming from inflation and escalating living costs were significant contributors to the cancellation of various music events in South Australia that year. Among the casualties were popular festivals like Groovin’ the Moo and Vintage Vibes. Harvest Rock, organized by Secret Sounds, was one of four festivals under their belt that faced cancellation in 2024, including the likes of Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, and Spilt Milk.

The revival of Harvest Rock in Adelaide this coming October has been met with great anticipation from festival enthusiasts, as well as the local hospitality and tourism sectors. South Australian Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison expressed elation at the return of the festival, highlighting its unique ability to showcase the best of what the region has to offer, from high-quality food and beverages to unforgettable experiences. The festival, held at Murlawirrapurka and Ityamai-Itpina (Rymill and King Rodney Parks), attracts a large audience of music and food aficionados from all corners of the country, contributing a substantial $34.5 million to the state’s economy across its 2022 and 2023 editions.

The impact of major events such as Harvest Rock on the economy cannot be overstated, not only adding significant value to the state’s coffers but also solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for top-tier events that cater to a wide range of interests, be it sports, art, food, or festivals. With two live music stages and an additional stage for comedy and culinary delights, the festival promises a diverse lineup that has previously featured legendary acts like Paul Kelly, Crowded House, Jamiroquai, as well as newer sensations such as Ocean Alley and Tash Sultana.

In addition to the stellar musical performances, festival-goers can indulge in the finest culinary offerings from the region, curated by renowned chef Duncan Welgemoed of Africola and complemented by beverages from esteemed wine critic Nick Stock. The presence of pop-up cellars and bars further adds to the rich tapestry of experiences the festival has to offer. Festival Director Ryan Sabet expressed pride in partnering with Secret Sounds to bring global music icons to South Australia while also showcasing the region’s exceptional food, wine, and culture to visitors from beyond its borders.

Music enthusiasts and foodies alike can mark their calendars for the upcoming Harvest Rock lineup announcement on Tuesday, August 12, with presale tickets becoming available shortly after on Tuesday, August 19, followed by general admission tickets on Wednesday, August 20. As the countdown to the festival begins, excitement is building for what promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, food, and culture in the heart of Adelaide.
