Nashville’s innovative punk rock group, Snooper, recently announced their upcoming album, “Worldwide,” set to release on 3rd October via Third Man Records. With this announcement, they have also presented the title track as the lead single, showcasing a revolutionary evolution in their signature sound.

Snooper originated as a lo-fi duo, comprising guitarist Connor Cummins and vocalist/visual artist Blair Tramel. Since then, they have expanded their lineup to include bassist Happy Haugen, drummer Brad Barteau, and guitarist Conner Sullivan, solidifying their status as a formidable force within the underground punk scene. Renowned for their high-octane live performances and fearless musical experimentation, Snooper has garnered a loyal following both domestically and internationally.

Their debut album in 2023, “Super Snõõper,” was a raw and invigorating collection of tracks cultivated from their experiences on the road. In contrast, “Worldwide,” born out of their endeavors while traversing the globe and maintaining day jobs, marks a purposeful progression for the band. Described by the members as their authentic debut, the album signifies a quest for growth and a newfound engagement with electronic drum beats.

The title track, “Worldwide,” exudes a sense of urgency with its driving rhythm and captivating tempo. Featuring Cummins’ exploration of repetition and groove, the song seamlessly blends elements of dance music with their punk essence. Tramel’s commanding vocals mirror the band’s energy as she emphatically belts out the lyrics, touching on themes of uncertainty and pressure. Inspired by hydraulic press videos on YouTube, the track encapsulates the band’s evolution in sound and image.

Snooper’s musical evolution was catalyzed during a spontaneous trip to Los Angeles to collaborate with esteemed producer John Congleton. Although unaccustomed to working with a producer, Congleton’s input proved invaluable, leading them to uncharted sonic territories while preserving their core essence. Defined by experimentation and evolution, “Worldwide” embodies a departure from their previous style, embracing melody, structure, and personal introspection in its lyrical content.

As Snooper continues to navigate various musical landscapes and share stages with an eclectic range of artists, they embrace their unique identity and resist conventional labeling. Their sophomore album serves as a testament to their unrelenting energy and willingness to transcend boundaries, resonating with audiences across continents with its fervor and authenticity. With an upcoming tour in North America supporting The Hives, Snooper’s reputation as a dynamic and unmissable punk act is undeniably solidified on a global scale.
