Joe Walsh reveals plans for VetsAid Festival in 2025
Joe Walsh has unveiled plans for the 2025 edition of VetsAid, an annual festival designed to raise funds and awareness for the needs of returning U.S. soldiers and their families. The upcoming event, the ninth installment of its kind, will showcase performances from Vince Gill, Ryan Bingham, and The Texas Gentlemen, along with a special “super-set” featuring Walsh alongside Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Nathaniel Rateliff, and additional surprise guests yet to be revealed. The event, held at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, will kick off at 6 p.m. on November 15. Tickets will be available for purchase starting on August 8 at 10 a.m. Central time, with prices starting at $50.
In a statement released on August 1, Walsh expressed his long-standing aspiration to bring VetsAid back to his hometown of Wichita in order to support Kansas veterans and their families. With a deep sense of connection and responsibility to the area, Walsh looks forward to sharing the experience with his esteemed musician friends, including Vince Gill, Ryan Bingham, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and Nathaniel Rateliff. This year’s show promises to be a celebration of music and community in Wichita.
The inaugural VetsAid concert took place on September 20, 2017, at the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, VA, featuring performances by Walsh, Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, and Gary Clark Jr. Over the years, the event has seen the participation of music icons such as Don Henley, James Taylor, Chris Stapleton, Ringo Starr, and ZZ Top, among others. Although VetsAid 2024 was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Walsh remains committed to curating an exclusive lineup for the festival each year in different American cities with a significant veteran and military population.
As part of its mission, VetsAid allocates all net proceeds from the concert directly to veterans’ services charities selected through a rigorous vetting process in partnership with the Combined Arms Institute. To date, VetsAid has disbursed over $4,000,000 in grants. The organization aims to grant funds exclusively to Kansas-based organizations or those with operations in the state in 2025, with grant applications currently open on the VetsAid website.
For Walsh, a Gold Star son who lost his father to active duty when he was just a toddler, supporting veterans and their wellbeing has always been a personal priority. Through VetsAid and its annual benefit concert, Walsh continues to honor and give back to those who have made tremendous sacrifices for the nation.
