Top K-pop groups including BTS, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, TXT, ILLIT, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN dominate charts
Billboard released its latest World Albums chart for the week ending on August 2, showcasing a diverse mix of K-pop acts dominating the rankings. Leading the chart was BTS, with their first live album, “PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE,” claiming the top spot. Notably, the album also made a significant impact on the Billboard 200 chart by debuting in the top 10.
Additionally, BTS’s 2022 anthology album, “Proof,” maintained its strong position at No. 8 in its 163rd week on the World Albums chart. As for individual members’ projects, Jin’s solo mini-album, “Echo,” secured the 14th spot in its 10th week, while Jimin’s solo album, “MUSE,” held strong at No. 15 after 53 weeks on the chart.
Moving on to other standout performers, ATEEZ’s “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3” impressed with its second-place ranking in its sixth week on the World Albums chart. Similarly, ENHYPEN’s latest mini-album, “DESIRE : UNLEASH,” took the third spot in its eighth week, while their previous release, “ROMANCE : UNTOLD,” grabbed the 18th position in its 54th week.
ILLIT’s “bomb” also showcased stability by maintaining the seventh spot in its fifth week on the chart. Stray Kids made a remarkable presence with four albums on the World Albums chart this week. Their special album, “合 (HOP),” secured the ninth spot, followed by “ATE” at No. 12. Additionally, their 2023 album, “★★★★★ (5-STAR),” re-entered the chart at No. 23, alongside “ROCK-STAR” at No. 25.
Despite being unavailable physically in the United States, TXT’s new album, “The Star Chapter: TOGETHER,” debuted at an impressive No. 10 solely through digital sales. SEVENTEEN’s “HAPPY BURSTDAY” maintained its 11th position in its ninth week on the chart, and NewJeans’ “Get Up” climbed back to No. 17 in its 98th week.
RIIZE’s “ODYSSEY” made its mark at No. 21 in its second week on the chart, while BLACKPINK’s 2020 album, “THE ALBUM,” ranked No. 22 after 108 weeks. The World Albums chart continues to highlight the success and global influence of K-pop artists across various groups and solo acts.
