Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral took place at his Buckinghamshire estate, where he was buried near a lake as per his wishes. The private service saw the attendance of Black Sabbath and Metallica members, along with other notable musicians like Elton John, Zakk Wylde, Rob Zombie, Corey Taylor, and Marilyn Manson. This ceremony was described as reverent and beautiful by Marilyn Manson. Ozzy, who passed away at the age of 76, had complications related to Parkinson’s disease, but the exact cause of death was not disclosed.

In a heartwarming tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, a southern white rhino born on the same day as his passing was named “Ozzy” at Safari West in California. The wildlife park shared that the coincidental birth of the rhino on the day Ozzy died felt like a meaningful way to honor the iconic musician. Visitors will soon be able to see and interact with the rhino named after the heavy metal legend.

August 1st holds significance in the legacy of George Harrison, as it marked the day of the legendary Concerts for Bangladesh in 1971. Held at Madison Square Garden in New York, the star-studded event featured notable musicians like Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and Ringo Starr. The concerts pioneered large-scale all-star benefit events and laid the foundation for future charity concerts like Live Aid and Farm Aid. The net proceeds of approximately $12 million were donated to the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF.

In a gesture of support for Manchester’s music scene, Oasis’s reunion shows generated a fund of 250,000 euros to aid local music venues. The success of the band’s concerts, which attracted around 300,000 attendees, paved the way for the establishment of the fund to help grassroots music venues in Oasis’s hometown of Manchester.
