Exclusive Debut: Andrew Adkins Releases “A Revolver In The Field”
Andrew Adkins, the talented alt-rock singer-songwriter and producer, has recently unveiled exciting news about his upcoming album, Superior Vena Cava, along with the release of a new single titled “A Revolver In The Field.” Set to drop on September 12, the album is highly anticipated following the success of his 2022 record, Rattlesnake Motions.
The single, “A Revolver In The Field,” marks the second track to be released from the forthcoming album and was crafted entirely by Adkins in his personal studio located in Nashville. Drawing inspiration from the 2018 film, The Old Man & the Gun, Adkins shared that the song materialized shortly after a significant breakup, revealing,
“After watching the movie, I was inspired to pick up my guitar and the song just flowed out of me. In a span of only 20 to 30 minutes, I had the chorus, verses, and instrumentals ready. It was a therapeutic moment for me, as I was still grappling with the emotions of my recent relationship ending. It felt like everything just came pouring out at once, like a downpour of emotions.”
Andrew Adkins is a well-respected name in Nashville’s underground rock community, having spent more than a decade honing a sound that breaks away from conventional trends. His music has been featured in various films and TV shows from industry giants like Netflix, Lionsgate, CBS, and Paramount+, and he has graced the stage alongside renowned artists such as Sturgill Simpson, Lainey Wilson, Cage the Elephant, and Billy Joe Shaver.
“A Revolver In The Field” is set to hit all major streaming platforms on August 8, giving listeners a taste of what to expect from the full album release.
