Kelly Clarkson cancels Las Vegas shows after sharing news of ex-husband’s illness
Kelly Clarkson has made the difficult decision to cancel her Las Vegas residency shows due to a health issue her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is currently facing. Explaining the situation on Instagram, Kelly revealed, “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.” She went on to share that her main focus right now is on being there for her children alongside their father during this challenging time.
Being a parent is Kelly’s top priority at the moment in light of her ex-husband’s health issues. She expressed her apologies to fans who had purchased tickets for the shows but emphasized her need to be fully present for her children as a parent. Concern for her ex-husband’s health is at the forefront of her decision to cancel the upcoming Las Vegas performances, and she expressed deep gratitude for her fans’ understanding, grace, and kindness.
Kelly and Brandon share two children, River, aged 10, and Remington, aged 8. The Grammy-winning artist was set to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, Aug. 8, which would have marked her first show in Las Vegas since her residency began a month prior. Unfortunately, this cancellation is the second time Kelly has had to postpone her Las Vegas residency after the initial show dates were delayed due to vocal cord issues.
The initial postponement occurred right before her residency was supposed to premiere on Friday, July 4. Kelly, in an Instagram statement, expressed her dismay at having to delay the shows but highlighted the importance of safeguarding her voice from harm due to the rigorous preparation and rehearsals involved. She wanted the experience to be perfect for her fans and took the necessary time off to rest in order to provide the high-quality performance they deserve.
Despite her best efforts to provide an unforgettable experience for her fans, Kelly’s struggles have been evident. The abrupt cancellations have raised concerns among her crew and fans alike. Sources have indicated that apart from her vocal cord issues, Kelly is facing undisclosed personal battles causing emotional and physical distress. Her absence from “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in March was reportedly due to personal matters, with guest hosts filling in for her during her absence. It was later revealed that she had to manage personal matters related to her ex-husband’s illness.
Clarkson’s life has been marked by numerous challenges, from her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in 2020, after seven years of marriage, to the recent health issues affecting her family life. Despite these setbacks, Kelly remains committed to her role as a parent and continues to navigate the difficult circumstances with grace and resilience. We offer our best wishes to Kelly, Brandon, and their family during this challenging time.
