Southern River Band’s New Album ‘Easier Said Than Done’ Announcement
The announcement of The Southern River Band’s forthcoming fourth studio album, Easier Said Than Done, marks an exciting development for fans of the Perth glam-rock group. Scheduled for release on Friday, October 17th through Civilians (formerly Cooking Vinyl Australia), this album is highly anticipated following the success of their previous record, D.I.Y.
Recorded by the band at Byron Bay’s Brooklet Recording under the guidance of producer Nick DiDia, Easier Said Than Done promises to deliver a fresh sound that captures the essence of The Southern River Band’s signature style. The band has also unveiled the album’s third single, ‘No Such Time’, which follows ‘Fuck You, Pay Me’ from March and the opening track ‘Don’t Take It To Heart’ released in June. A surprising twist to the album is the inclusion of a song not penned by the band itself but by none other than Bernard Fanning, formerly of Powderfinger and Fanning Dempsey National Park.
Frontman Cal Kramer shared his excitement about this unexpected collaboration, stating, “It’s not every day you get a message from Bernard Fanning saying ‘g’day boys, got a song for ya’. We SRB’d it good and proper, and we’re absolutely stoked with how it turned out (so is he, thank fuck). We hope you dig it as much as we do.” The music video for ‘No Such Time’, directed by Luna Laure, complements the track and provides a visual backdrop for the band’s unique musical offering.
In celebration of the album’s release, The Southern River Band are gearing up for a national tour in October 2025. Commencing in Melbourne on Thursday, October 16th, just one day before the album drops, the tour will traverse the country, culminating in a hometown show in Fremantle on Halloween. The band is thrilled about hitting the road and connecting with their fan base through live performances, stating, “What would a new record be without some shows to go with it? Can’t fu**in’ wait to see youse all soon.”
