Swift’s announcement of her upcoming 12th studio album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl,” has sent fans into a frenzy with the release of a new playlist curated by the singer herself. The playlist titled “And, baby, that’s show business for you,” includes 22 tracks from Swift’s repertoire and has a total runtime of one hour and 22 minutes. The playlist kicks off with her popular song “22” and features tracks from her previous albums “Red,” “1989,” and “Reputation.”

Notably, all 22 tracks on the playlist were produced by Max Martin and Shellback, leading fans to speculate whether the duo will have a hand in Swift’s upcoming album. Interestingly, songs produced by Jack Antonoff, who has worked on seven of Swift’s recent records, were conspicuously absent from the playlist.

Despite the playlist release, Swift’s team has remained tight-lipped about further details regarding the album. However, in a video clip posted on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, Swift unveiled the album title, “The Life of a Showgirl.” In the clip, she excitedly presents a briefcase adorned with an orange “T.S.” logo, revealing the name of her latest album to the delight of Kelce and his co-host, Jason Kelce.

Although no official release date for the album was announced, fans eager to get their hands on it can pre-order the record in vinyl, cassette, or CD format on Swift’s website, with shipping scheduled before Oct. 13. Despite this, the website cautioned buyers, stating that the pre-order date is not the official release date and further information will be revealed in due time.

The announcement of Swift’s new album came in the wake of speculation surrounding her guest appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, which teased an upcoming episode featuring a mysterious silhouette that bore a striking resemblance to Swift. Fans were thrilled when it was confirmed that Swift would indeed be making an appearance on the podcast.

In anticipation of the album’s release, an orange countdown timer appeared on Swift’s website with the message, “EXPIRES AUGUST 12 AT 12:12 A.M.”. True to the countdown, the video clip unveiling the album title was posted online exactly at 12:12 a.m. ET. Fans can also look forward to the full episode of the “New Heights” podcast with the singer, set to drop at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
