Independent musician GLOM releases catchy new song “Glass” with video inspired by French Connection
GLOM, an indie artist hailing from Brooklyn, NY, recently released a captivating new single titled “Glass” and also revealed his signing with Nettwerk Music Group. The single is complemented by a visually engaging music video inspired by the iconic film, The French Connection, shot in South Brooklyn under the direction of Matt Calabrese.
In “Glass,” GLOM delves into a theme of fleeting joy being eclipsed by overwhelming anxiety, drawing from personal experiences. He recalls a moment spent with his girlfriend at the beach, where she collected sea glass while he was bombarded with distressing notifications from work, disrupting the tranquility of the moment.
Having been actively touring over the past years, GLOM recently wrapped up a national tour alongside indie rock outfit Drook. In the upcoming month, GLOM is scheduled to perform in New York City at Sony Hall on August 26, alongside other talented Brooklyn-based acts including Sid Simons, Thesaurus Rex, and Meyru. At present, GLOM is immersed in the creative process of his third studio album.
GLOM, originally from Washington, DC, now calls Brooklyn home and infuses his music with a blend of 90s alternative rock influences, shoegaze textures, and the rhythmic intensity of late 80s post-punk. This fusion results in a sound that is simultaneously fresh and nostalgic, showcasing the artist’s versatility and creativity within the indie rock genre.
With an impressive musical background and a growing fan base, GLOM is an artist to watch in the indie music scene. His compelling storytelling through music and visuals captivates audiences and leaves a lasting impact. As he continues to evolve his sound and craft, GLOM remains dedicated to creating authentic and emotionally resonant music that connects with listeners on a profound level.
