Indie sensation Goose made a significant splash today with the surprise release of their fifth studio album, “Chain Yer Dragon,” marking a momentous occasion for the band and their loyal fan base. This announcement was made by none other than Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, where Goose also unveiled their newest single, “Madalena.”

Band leader Rick Mitarotonda expressed his excitement for the new single, stating, “This song adds depth to the world of ‘Chain Yer Dragon’ in a beautiful manner. It feels both fresh and captivating, yet somehow familiar and timeless.”

“Chain Yer Dragon,” crafted under the careful guidance of producer D. James Goodwin of No Coincidence Records, serves as a significant milestone for Goose, following closely on the heels of their previous release, “Everything Must Go.” The album features a collection of tracks that encompass their musical journey, including beloved live staples like “Echo of A Rose,” “Empress of Organos,” “Rockdale,” and “Factory Fiction,” creating a seamless blend of the band’s past and present artistic identities.

Keyboardist Peter Anspach commended the album’s remarkable songwriting, emphasizing the band’s ability to create a cohesive and innovative sound that resonates with listeners.

The tracklist for “Chain Yer Dragon” includes a diverse range of songs, such as “Hot Love & The Lazy Poet,” “Royal,” “Echoes of A Rose,” and “Dr. Darkness,” among others, each contributing to the album’s overarching narrative and musical progression.

Originating from Connecticut, Goose has experienced a steady rise in popularity over recent months, particularly following their notable four-night stint at the iconic Capitol Theatre in April 2024. The band introduced drummer Cotter Ellis during this residency, solidifying their lineup alongside Mitarotonda, Anspach, and bassist Trevor Weekz.

Their subsequent performances at Forest Hills Stadium and Madison Square Garden further solidified their reputation as a band on the brink of a new era, sharing stages with legendary acts like the Grateful Dead and Phish.

As Goose gears up for an extensive tour in the wake of their sold-out Madison Square Garden debut, fans can anticipate memorable shows at the Park City Song Summit, a special appearance with Dave Matthews Band at The Gorge, and a two-night spectacle at The Louisville Palace in the coming months.

With their latest album release, “Chain Yer Dragon,” Goose continues to captivate audiences with their distinctive blend of indie rock and jam band sensibilities, setting the stage for a bright future filled with exciting musical endeavors and groundbreaking performances.
