Megadeth confirms last album and plans 2026 farewell tour

MEGADETH frontman, Dave Mustaine, recently announced that the band’s upcoming album, set to release early next year, will be their final studio album. In a heartfelt message to fans, Dave Mustaine shared that the band will embark on a global farewell tour in 2026. Along with the album release, Mustaine will also be unveiling a new memoir, details of which will be revealed in the coming months.

Reflecting on his decision to end the band after four decades, Dave Mustaine expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support throughout the years. He emphasized the importance of going out on his own terms and expressed his excitement for fans to hear the final album and see them on tour. MEGADETH’s final album will be released through Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s BLKIIBLK label. While the initial farewell tour dates will be announced later this year.

Since their formation in 1983, MEGADETH has been a pivotal force in the metal genre, with Dave Mustaine at the helm.
