RockWich Festival, a beloved rock festival, is marking its 10th anniversary. The festivities will commence at Witton Albion FC, featuring an ‘unplugged’ acoustic session on Saturday followed by the main event on Sunday. Over the past ten years, the festival has cultivated a dedicated fanbase akin to a family.

Mik Matzen, one of the organizers, expressed his elation at the festival’s longevity and committed to its continuation for the foreseeable future. He remarked on the festival’s ability to attract attendees from all over the country, showcasing talents from Europe and America. The festival has garnered a steadfast following, with many attendees making it an annual tradition.

The upcoming 10th installment of RockWich promises to be larger than previous years, expecting an audience of 350 individuals, a significant increase from the prior year. Saturday’s acoustic performances by blues rock band Katie and the Bad Sign, rock band Gin Annie, and singer-songwriter-guitarist Tom Killner are set to kick off the weekend. On Sunday, the main event will feature 13 bands and artists, including Collateral, Sweet Electric, Troy Redfern, and a special guest appearance by Dan Byrne.

The festival also offers a camping area for attendees, opening on Saturday evening, with campers encouraged to contribute unwanted items for charity and participate in a raffle benefitting Parkinsons UK. Last year, the festival raised £1,000 for charity through band merchandise donations. Tickets for the festival are priced at £45, and children under 14 can attend for free with a paying adult.

The ongoing success and growth of RockWich Festival showcase the enduring appeal of rock music and communal celebrations. With a diverse lineup of talented artists and a dedicated following, the festival continues to be a highlight of the musical calendar, bringing together fans from near and far to revel in the power of rock music. As the 10th edition approaches, the organizers remain committed to delivering an unforgettable experience for attendees, ensuring that RockWich Festival remains a cornerstone of the music festival scene for years to come.
