BTS has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing 1 billion streaming songs on Spotify with their hit track “FAKE LOVE” from their third full-length album titled “LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ′Tear” released in May 2018. It marks the fifth BTS group song to hit the 1 billion streaming mark. The song is renowned for its emo hip-hop genre featuring a mix of rock guitar sounds and a groovy trap beat. Its lyrics delve into the theme of realizing that a love once thought to be fate was, in fact, fake, resonating with audiences worldwide through BTS’s dark sensibility.

Upon its release, “FAKE LOVE” ranked 10th on the US Billboard main song chart “Hot 100” and 42nd on the UK’s “Official Singles Chart Top 100.” The album “LOVE YOURSELF 轉” attained the milestone of becoming the first Korean artist’s album to top the prestigious Billboard main album chart “Billboard 200,” solidifying BTS’s stature in the global music scene. Jungkook, a member of BTS, also reached a significant milestone with his solo single “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” surpassing 1 billion cumulative plays on Spotify, joining the ranks of K-pop solo artists with the highest record of 1 billion streaming songs.

BTS has been no stranger to Spotify successes, with other hits like “Dynamite,” “My Universe,” “Butter,” and “Boy With Luv” (feat. Halsey) each recording more than 1 billion streams. In total, the group has amassed an impressive 2 billion streams on Spotify, with 127 of their songs garnering over 100 million plays each.

Aside from group successes, Jungkook’s solo endeavor “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” entered the Hot 100 and “Official Single Top 100” at the time of its release. The song, falling under the R&B pop genre, blends old-school hip-hop sounds with Jungkook’s unique style, conveying a message of longing to meet ‘you’ in person in three dimensions and always being together as ‘we.’

BTS’s global impact on the music industry cannot be understated, with their string of achievements on Spotify solidifying their status as trailblazers and trendsetters in the K-pop genre. Jungkook’s individual success only adds to the group’s impressive legacy and further cements their position as one of the most influential acts in the international music landscape.
