Midlake reveals upcoming album, debuts track “The Ghouls”

Midlake recently disclosed details about their forthcoming album entitled A Bridge to Far, set to be released on November 7 via Midlake Records / Believe. The band’s last album, “For the Sake of Bethel Woods,” was released in 2022. Band member Eric Pulido shed light on the album’s title and track, emphasizing its exploration of hope, faith, and the journey towards something greater despite challenging circumstances. He posits that while escapism can have negative connotations, their aim is to promote healthy escapism.

The album was recorded at Austin’s The Echo Lab Studio under the production helm of Sam Evian. Noteworthy contributions come from Madison Cunningham, Hannah Cohen, and Meg Lui. Pulido expressed his joy at working with the band and producer Sam Evian, highlighting the authenticity captured during the recording process. He noted that the album traverses familiar musical terrains the band has explored in the past while also venturing into new sonic territories.

The debut single from the album, “The Ghouls,” showcases Midlake’s trademark lush and textured folk-rock sound, heightened by their harmonious vocal arrangements. A music video for the single, filmed during the album’s creation at A Bridge to Far, is now available for viewing. Fans can get a sneak peek at the band’s creative process.
