The Taipei Arena Series from September 5 to 7 will feature top musical acts from Taiwan, Japan, and Korea, while Taipei Very Live will host over 50 performances at 22 live houses and music-themed restaurants spanning multiple genres such as rock, jazz, and pop. Sandy Huang, chairperson of the Taipei Music Center, underlined the venue’s significance as a pivotal figure in Taiwan’s music realm, serving as both a propeller of pop music and a core component of the music scene.
Highlight events including the Taipei Music Expo (TMEX) and Jam Jam Asia, running from August 28 to 31, will showcase a total of 70 performances, shining a spotlight on local and regional talent. Positioned as a global music industry focal point, Trendy Taiwan is hosting the Trendy Fusion Forum at Ambi Space One, welcoming international pop culture influencers like Sebastian Masuda and Cha Haley, known for their contributions to Japanese Kawaii culture and the K-pop scene, respectively.
As a driving force in music-related activities, TMEX will unite representatives from 10 APAC countries and 60 exhibitors, including renowned festivals such as Busan Rock Festival and Thailand’s Big Mountain Festival. Facilitating artistic collaborations, an Industry Matchmaking Day will promote interactions between artists and industry professionals, fostering new opportunities and synergies within the music sector.
In tandem with the musical extravaganza, the festival will explore innovation and technology through initiatives like StartSphere Taipei, which showcases startups from across six countries, and the Taipei Film Academy’s focus on “AI and the Future of Film.” Moreover, neighborhood activation projects offer residents and visitors alike the chance to engage with music and cultural activities, enriching the vibrant tapestry of Taipei’s cultural landscape.
Through these dynamic events, Taiwan is wielding its soft power to affirm its identity and position itself as a distinguished creative destination, with Taipei at its core.
