The Historical Piano Concerts will open its 40th fall season with a performance by pianist Hwaen Ch’uqi this Sunday, September 7th, at the New Dawn Arts Center at Ashburnham Community Church in Ashburnham. This will mark Ch’uqi’s return for his third appearance at the concert series, promising a delightful musical experience for all attendees.

On August 29th, the Tot Time session at Ayer Library featuring stories, songs, and crafts was a hit among children aged 1-3. Preschoolers enjoyed a fun STEAM Story Time at Randall Library in Stow on the same day. Thayer Memorial Library in Lancaster hosted a Crafternoon Playgroup for kids aged 5 and under where children could partake in crafting activities and make new friends. History enthusiasts could attend a reading session at Thayer Memorial Library, where the topic of discussion was “Tories: Fighting for the King in America’s First Civil War” by Thomas B. Allen.

The community had a series of events on August 30th. The Lunenburg Public Library provided Drop-In Tech Help for individuals navigating personal emails and apps. Stevens Memorial Library in Ashburnham invited attendees to a Saturday Yoga session. The library also hosted a Teddy Bear Picnic, where children under 5 brought their favorite stuffed animals for stories, songs, and snacks. Fitchburg’s Riverfront Park saw the kickoff of the River City Rhythm & Rock Festival, featuring live music, local food vendors, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Looking ahead to September 2nd, various local libraries have planned engaging events for community members of all ages. The Bolton Public Library will conduct a Story Time session for ages 2-5. Groton Public Library’s storytime will revolve around the fascinating facts about all the water on Earth. The Ashby Free Public Library will provide outdoor water play activities for visitors. Residents can also participate in a 100 Books Bucket List Book Club session at the Lunenburg Public Library.

With activities spanning from outdoor play at Stevens Memorial Library to discussions on modern world news at the Groton Public Library, the community calendar remains vibrant and varied. From stitchcraft groups to meditation sessions and knitting clubs—there’s something for everyone. The Lawrence Library in Pepperell will offer an Avocado Cookies making workshop, catering to teens and pre-teens.

The community’s wakefulness to learning and engagement is evident from the rich tapestry of events scheduled across local libraries and cultural centers. With a shared appreciation for music, art, storytelling, and mental wellness, Nashoba displays a sense of pride in its communal engagement that extends through generations, ensuring diverse activities to cater to people of all ages and interests.
