This album is a unique reimagining of Buddy Miles’s iconic tracks through Biscuit’s creative lens. Released digitally in 2024 by Leopard Records, a German funk/jazz label, ‘Biscuit & Buddy’ breathes new life into Buddy’s classics such as “Them Changes,” “Life is What You Make It,” and Neil Young’s “Down By The River,” now accompanied by a fresh music video. According to Biscuit, this tribute is deeply personal as Buddy Miles was not just a musical influence but a blueprint for the kind of musician he aspires to be.

Moreover, ‘Biscuit & Buddy’ showcases Rouse’s original compositions like “GI Gina,” “Enough Is Enough,” and “Shine,” combining elements of soul, funk, and rock to pay homage to his idol in a genre-defying manner. This album, the first-ever full-length Buddy Miles tribute, boasts a star-studded lineup of musicians, including Vernon Reid, Doug Wimbish, Marcus Machado, Charisa “The Violin Diva” Rouse, V. Jeffrey Smith, Lez Lemon, Kenyatta Beasley, Gil-XI Defay, and more. Produced by James C. Rouse, mixed by Andre Betts, and mastered exclusively for vinyl, ‘Biscuit & Buddy’ is a project years in the making, now ready for its grand unveiling.
