Static-X to release special box set for 25th anniversary of ‘Wisconsin Death Trip’
Static-X is commemorating the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking album “Wisconsin Death Trip” by releasing a special edition box set. Following the success of their hit single “Push It,” which recently achieved Gold and soon-to-be Platinum certification, the band is celebrating this iconic album that introduced fans to the legendary lineup of Wayne Static, Koichi Fukuda, Tony Campos, and Ken Jay back in 1999.
The original album featured unforgettable tracks like “I’m With Stupid” and “Bled For Days,” which not only dominated music charts but also made a significant impact on pop culture by appearing in music videos, video games, and various movie soundtracks. In anticipation of the anniversary release, the full expanded tracklisting for the box set has been revealed, showcasing remastered versions of the album audio and bonus tracks.
The anniversary edition, titled “Wisconsin Death Trip (25th Anniversary Corrosive Edition),” will be made available worldwide on December 12th. This ultimate collector’s item will include two handmade orange and black eclipse vinyl records, offering fans a revamped listening experience with new artwork and additional content. The band collaborated with original producer Ulrich Wild and photographer Exum to enhance the album’s remastered audio quality and visual presentation.
In addition to the remastered album, the box set will feature a second disc containing demos, alternate versions, and rare tracks, extending the album’s runtime to over an hour and eleven minutes. Fans can also expect exclusive deluxe editions that come with signed prints, engraved ID tags, bracelets with QR codes linking to behind-the-scenes footage, and other memorabilia, ensuring a unique and immersive experience for fans of Static-X.
Warner Records has also reissued the music video for “Push It” in High Definition, allowing fans to revisit this iconic visual piece that played a pivotal role in the band’s early success. Directed by Mick Olszewski, the clay animation-style video originally premiered on MTV in 1999 and has garnered over 34 million views since its release, making it a timeless classic in the rock genre.
Looking ahead, the original members of Static-X, joined by current vocalist/guitarist Xer0, are gearing up for an exciting year of live performances and tours. They will be hitting the road in 2025, including festival appearances and headlining shows across the country. As part of their plans, the band will be supporting Mudvayne on their LD 50 25th Anniversary Tour, promising fans a memorable concert experience that celebrates their enduring legacy in the rock and metal music scene.
With the upcoming release of the 25th-anniversary box set and a packed touring schedule, Static-X continues to prove their influence and staying power in the world of heavy rock music, solidifying their status as legends in the industry.
