Louisville hosts St. James Court Art Show and NuLu Fest
Fall is a time of year that many people look forward to in Louisville, signaling a shift to cooler temperatures and vibrant foliage. To make the most of this season, there are a variety of outdoor festivals in the area that cater to different interests such as food, drinks, music, and art. These events provide opportunities for individuals to engage with the community and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
One notable festival to attend is the 9th Annual Big Four Arts Festival. This art-centric event showcases over 150 juried fine artists, craftsmen, jewelers, and artisans, offering a diverse range of creative works for attendees to peruse. In addition to the art displays, there are hands-on activities suitable for all ages, live music performances, food trucks serving delectable cuisine, as well as beverage options including beer, wine, cocktails, and mocktails. The festival, held at the Big Four Lawn in Waterfront Park, runs from September 6 to 7 and requires a nominal ticket fee of $5, with free admission for children aged 12 and under. Proceeds from ticket sales go towards benefiting Bridgehaven Mental Health Service, and parking is conveniently available at nearby paid lots.
For nature enthusiasts, the 3rd Annual Pawpaw Fest is a must-visit event. This festival, sponsored by Oxmoor Auto Group, Beargrass Thunder, Independence Bank, and Kentucky State University, features guided hikes, workshops, children’s activities, vendors selling nature-themed arts and crafts, native plants, pawpaws, and pawpaw products. Attendees can enjoy live music performances, tastings, and much more at the Louisville Nature Center on September 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is free to attend, but pre-registration is required for guided hikes and workshops by September 5. Parking is limited, and guests are encouraged to visit the event website for information on available parking locations.
In celebration of diversity and inclusion, the 10th Annual Louisville Pride Festival is an event that promotes the theme of “Decades: Resistance and Hope Through The Years.” This festival aims to showcase the enduring spirit of resistance and hope within the LGBTQ+ community over the years. With a lineup of engaging activities, music, and entertainment, the Louisville Pride Festival promises a memorable experience for all attendees. The event serves as a platform for individuals to come together, celebrate diversity, and foster a sense of unity within the community.
