Robert Plant has unveiled the third single from his upcoming album “Saving Grace” and has announced a North American tour with the band of the same name. The album, set to be released on September 26, 2025, features a new band of accomplished musicians that Plant describes as a “song book of the lost and found.” The new track, “Chevrolet,” is a rendition of Donovan’s 1965 hit “Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness),” which itself is inspired by the 1930 Delta blues classic “Can I Do It for You” by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy.

The genesis of Saving Grace began during the lockdown in the English countryside, where Plant was confined due to travel restrictions. Despite his recent musical ventures centered around Nashville with Alison Krauss, Plant found a kinship with a diverse group of musicians from Saving Grace, including Suzi Dian, Oli Jefferson, Tony Kelsey, Matt Worley, and Barney Morse-Brown. Over the past six years, they have developed a unique workshop of styles and personalities, exploring various genres with excitement and creativity.

Plant’s collaboration with Saving Grace brings new life to a collection of century-old songs, featuring tracks originally performed by artists such as Memphis Minnie, Bob Mosley, Blind Willie Johnson, The Low Anthem, and others. The album was produced by Plant and Saving Grace and recorded between April 2019 and January 2025 in the Cotswolds and on the Welsh Borders, breathing fresh energy into timeless classics.

The band’s new single, “Gospel Plough,” showcases their ability to transform spiritual music into an enchanting blend of vocals, steel banjo, and acoustic guitar. Plant expresses his joy in working with Saving Grace, highlighting their unique stylistic approach and the camaraderie they share during their collaborations. The band’s rendition of Low’s “Everybody’s Song” further showcases their innovative interpretations of classic tracks.

After successful tours in the U.K. and Europe, Plant and Saving Grace are set to embark on their inaugural U.S. tour this fall, with shows scheduled in cities such as Wheeling, Charlottesville, Washington, Brooklyn, and more. Fans can expect a blend of classic songs and fresh interpretations during their live performances, featuring a mix of old and new tracks from “Saving Grace.”

With the release of “Saving Grace” and the announcement of their upcoming tour, Robert Plant and Saving Grace continue to captivate audiences with their unique sound and artistic vision. Their innovative approach to reimagining classic songs and their infectious camaraderie promise an exciting musical experience for fans around the world.
