Adelaide’s well-known rock band, Bad//Dreems, recently took a different approach, showcasing a more intimate and heartfelt performance at HoMie’s Store Sessions. The streetwear brand has transformed its flagship store in Fitzroy into a small venue to support homeless youth in the community. This initiative aims to provide a safe space for young individuals affected by homelessness while also offering a platform for artists to showcase their talent.

During the performance, Bad//Dreems treated the audience to stripped-down acoustic versions of their popular songs like “Hume” and “My Only Friend,” showcasing a raw and vulnerable side to their music. Drummer Miles Wilson expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform at such a meaningful event and emphasized the importance of using their platform to drive social change, following in the footsteps of other artists who have used their music to make a difference in the world.

The session at HoMie’s Store is part of a larger vision to bring together the community, creativity, and meaningful causes. Tash Sultana kicked off the series with a launch performance, setting the stage for future artists to use their music to support important social issues. Co-founder Marcus Crook envisions the store becoming a regular stop for touring artists, creating a unique space where music can directly contribute to the brand’s mission of making a positive impact on the community.

Overall, this initiative not only highlights the power of music to bring people together but also serves as a reminder of the importance of giving back to those in need. By combining artistry with activism, HoMie’s Store Sessions is a shining example of how the music industry can be a force for good in the world. As more artists embrace their role in driving social change, we can expect to see more initiatives like this that strive to make a difference and support those who need it most.
