Australia’s most vocal beer aficionados, Cosmic Psychos, are back with a bang, introducing their latest single I Like Beer from their forthcoming twelfth album, I Really Like Beer, set for release on November 7.

Originating in rural Victoria in 1982, Cosmic Psychos have established themselves as one of the leading punk bands in Australia. Known for their gritty riffs, unfiltered honesty, and beer-fueled humor, the Psychos have been an inspiration to numerous grunge bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Mudhoney. Despite over forty years in the industry, the band remains true to their roots—still gritty, still loud, and still driven by their love for beer.

The new single, I Like Beer, is a heartfelt ode from Ross Knight to his beloved companion, beer. Accompanied by a frenzied video true to the Psychos’ style, the track sets the stage for an album that promises to be “as wonderfully silly as ever, with a few life lessons hidden within the riffs.”

Recorded to tape with producer Paul Maybury at Secret Location Studios, amidst Knight’s commitments to vineyard work and volunteering with the CFA, I Really Like Beer is shaping up to be a remarkable album.

And what’s a record release without an epic tour? Cosmic Psychos will hit the road the same day as the album launch, embarking on an unprecedented rock tour across Australia, with 40 dates scheduled in venues ranging from pubs and RSLs to regional halls, spanning into 2026.

Not content with just a new album and an extensive tour, Knight is taking it a step further by launching a podcast. How Ya Goin? with Dr. Knighty is set to debut on September 14, blending pub banter with mental health check-ins. The first season will feature guests like Eamon Sandwith from The Chats, Donita Sparks from L7, Tim Rogers from You Am I, and Scarlet McKahey from Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers. It promises to be candid, humorous, and, true to Knight’s style, unfiltered.

With a new album, a jam-packed tour, and an exciting podcast on the horizon, Cosmic Psychos are showing that four decades in the industry haven’t dampened their passion for beer or their commitment to delivering raw, honest music to their fans.
