Four teenagers apprehended for vicious attack on 18-year-old in Athens
Greek police have taken into custody four teenagers in Ilioupoli after an incident where they assaulted and robbed an 18-year-old while filming the whole encounter and verbally abusing him. Additionally, three parents have been arrested for negligence.
The four suspects, two boys and two girls aged 15 and 16, were apprehended for their involvement in a violent attack on a young man in Ilioupoli, a suburb of Athens. Taking place on a Monday night in a central square, the assault resulted in the victim sustaining injuries and losing his phone.
Authorities reported that the group accosted the victim while he was conversing with friends. One of the girls initiated the physical altercation by slapping him, after which the two boys proceeded to hit him repeatedly in the face and body, causing him to fall down. Subsequently, they took his phone and fled the scene. Shockingly, the girls took videos of the assault on their phones while verbally attacking the victim.
The suspects are facing multiple charges, including robbery, causing bodily harm, verbal abuse, and breaching personal data laws. In light of these events, the parents of three of the accused teenagers have also been taken into custody on charges of failing to supervise their children effectively.
