11 must-see acts at Shaky Knees festival
Major changes have come for the esteemed indie rock festival in Atlanta, Shaky Knees. The event, which first took place in 2013 and enjoyed seven successful years at Central Park, has now transitioned to its sixth location, Piedmont Park. Traditionally held in May, the festival has made the strategic decision to move to this month and will feature a diverse lineup of alternative music acts from Friday through Sunday.
Speaking on the festival’s relocation, Shaky Knees founder Tim Sweetwood expressed his enthusiasm for the new venue in a recent email interview. He shared, “As a festival, we are very excited about our new landing spot. It is the obvious move…with the procession of the brand. The festival will hopefully be in the park for many years to come.”
The Linda Lindas, known for their punk rock sound, are slated to perform at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Shaky Knees Festival. Additionally, English rock guitarist Johnny Marr is scheduled to hit the stage at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, promising a dynamic performance for festival-goers.
Furthermore, the festival will feature legendary acts such as Chuck D and Flavor Flav of Public Enemy, who will captivate the audience at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Their performance promises to be a classic look at old-school hip-hop royalty, capturing the essence of their iconic music in a live setting.
Another anticipated act is Bankroll Ni’s infectious anthem ‘I’m So ATL,’ which has gone viral and become an anthem for the vibrant city of Atlanta. The song’s popularity speaks to the deep connection between music and the cultural identity of a city.
English Teacher, an art rock band, will grace the stage at 2 p.m. on Sunday, adding their unique sound to the eclectic lineup of performers set to entertain festival attendees.
With the festival’s move to Piedmont Park, attendees can expect a fresh experience that combines a beautiful outdoor setting with an impressive roster of musicians. The lineup promises to captivate audiences and create unforgettable moments for all who attend. Shaky Knees remains a go-to destination for music lovers seeking an immersive and engaging festival experience.
