In a developing situation, the U.S. tour of rising alt-pop singer d4vd has seen the cancellation of its final two dates, along with several upcoming European performances. This decision comes amidst an ongoing investigation into the discovery of the decomposed body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez in Los Angeles. The teenage girl, reported missing last year, was found inside an impounded Tesla earlier this month.

Authorities have yet to link d4vd, born David Anthony Burke, to the tragic incident, though reports indicate that the vehicle in question was registered to him. As investigations continue, d4vd’s representatives have not commented on the matter, nor has there been clarification from police about the ownership of the car.
Concertgoers were alerted that d4vd’s performance scheduled in San Francisco on Friday is marked as canceled on the venue’s website, and the artist’s final U.S. stop in Los Angeles on Saturday has also been removed from Ticketmaster listings. Additionally, a sold-out appearance at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles set for Wednesday has been taken off the venue’s site.

D4vd embarked on his North American tour in early August to promote his debut full-length album, “Withered,” released in April. His popularity surged among Gen Z audiences partly due to the viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The singer has managed to attract attention in the music scene with his blend of indie rock, R&B, and lo-fi pop.

Meanwhile, while a representative mentioned that d4vd has been cooperating with authorities since the discovery of Rivas’s body, specific details regarding why his car was impounded remain unclear. Rivas was reportedly last seen in April 2024 in Lake Elsinore, California. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office noted that her body was discovered in a severely decomposed state, and the cause of death has yet to be determined.

Though the recent events have led to the cancellation of at least nine performances in Europe, including the tour’s kickoff in Norway on October 1, tickets for some of d4vd’s scheduled appearances in Sweden, France, Poland, and Australia are still available.
