MCS also shared a music video for “Particle Physics” co-written by and starring Stump.“We met Patrick in the early days of Fall Out Boy and had more recently talked about having him contribute to this album,” Motion City Soundtrack guitarist Joshua Cain said. “He told us he had an idea running through his head about a song Motion City Soundtrack would have written but haven’t written yet. It was this little riff and chorus to ‘Particle Physics’ and even though it was just part of the song, the vibe was completely there.”Watch the music video for “Particle Physics”:Motion City Soundtrack, led by founding singer Justin Pierre, was one of the biggest acts of the pop-punk, emo and alternative rock scene in the 2000s. The group played the Warped Tour multiple years and had hits with “Everything is Alright,” “The Future Freaks Me Out,” “LG FUAD,” and “My Favorite Accident,” but they hadn’t released a full-length album since 2015’s “Panic Stations.”Pop-punk has undergone somewhat of a revival in the past few years. Panic! At the Disco unretired, The Cab reunited, and bands like All Time Low, Yellowcard, Simple Plan and Blink-182 have gone on tour.“I’m so sick of living the nostalgia down‚” Pierre sings on Motion City Soundtrack’s “wonderful” new album title track. “I just want to separate the past from now, stay in the present tense somehow.”Motion City Soundtrack is also celebrating the new album on a fall tour with Say Anything.
