Twenty One Pilots Return to No. 1 as ‘Breach’ Tops Billboard 200

Twenty One Pilots have officially returned to the top. The band’s new album, Breach, has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking their second chart-topping release and their strongest sales week ever. As reported by Billboard, the record moved 200,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. during its first week.

The debut not only gives the duo—Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun—their second career No. 1, but also sets a new benchmark for rock in 2025. Breach posted the biggest week for any rock album this year, and the largest since Tool’s Fear Inoculum debuted with 270,000 units back in September 2019. Notably, Twenty One Pilots topped the Billboard 200 more than a decade after their first No. 1, Blurryface, in June 2015. Since then, every one of their albums has placed in the top three, including Trench (No. 2 in 2018), Scaled and Icy (No. 3 in 2021), and Clancy (No. 3 in 2024).

The top 10 of this week’s Billboard 200 saw several other notable moves. The K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack slipped to No. 2 with 112,000 units after reaching No. 1 last week, while Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem held steady at No. 3 with 97,000. Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend dropped to No. 4 with 88,000 units. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran entered at No. 5 with Play, his eighth top 10 album, starting with 71,000 units.
