The 32nd edition of the L’Alfàs en Jazz Festival concluded with an unforgettable performance by the Eva Slongo Jazz Quartet, leaving attendees at the Casa de Cultura in Alfaz del Pi mesmerized by the Swiss violinist’s unique musical expression.

This festival, a cultural highlight in the Marina Baixa region, saw close to 1,000 music enthusiasts flock to the three concerts held throughout September.

Eva Slongo, a Swiss violinist born into a family of classical musicians, initially pursued a career as a classical violinist. However, her journey led her to jazz, where she honed her skills under the guidance of acclaimed mentors such as Pierre Blanchard and Didier Lockwood in Paris. This transition unlocked a distinctive approach, blending violin melodies with scat singing, resulting in a fresh and remarkable sonic experience.

Accompanying Slongo on stage were three accomplished musicians: pianist Baptiste Bailly, double bassist Ales Cesarini, and percussionist David Gadea. Together, they ventured into a musical realm unbounded by genre conventions, seamlessly weaving improvisation and emotion into each piece.

The festival received a robust show of support from Dragonet Comunicaciones, a company marking its 30th anniversary by sponsoring cultural, sports, and recreational events organized by Alfaz del Pi Town Hall. Their backing of the 32nd L’Alfàs en Jazz Festival underscored their commitment to enriching the cultural tapestry of the Marina Baixa region, ensuring that this event remains a pivotal cultural fixture.

Your unwavering support is instrumental in the festival’s growth and solidification as a cornerstone of culture in the region,” he acknowledged.

Casado extended special appreciation to Dragonet Comunicaciones for their collaborative spirit and dedication to the community. This partnership exemplifies the ethos of mutual support and shared cultural aspirations that elevate the quality of life for residents and visitors of Alfaz del Pi.

The 32nd edition of L’Alfàs en Jazz Festival was lauded for its innovative programming and international artist lineup, etching a lasting impression on attendees.
