The institution was one of only two colleges in Alabama to make the 2025 Great Colleges to Work For list, with Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia, AL being recognized in one category.

UAB first received recognition from the Great Colleges to Work For program in 2023. However, this year marks the first time that they have been honored with the prestigious Honor Roll distinction, highlighting their ongoing commitment to improving the work experience for faculty and staff. Janet May, Chief Human Resource Officer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, expressed pride in the institution’s dedication to enhancing the workplace for its employees.
