Canadian punk band Calling All Captains recently revealed the upcoming release of their new EP, The Things That I’ve Lost, which is set to debut on January 9, 2026, through New Damage Records. Lead vocalist Luc Gauthier expressed that the EP touches on themes of “burnout, grief, and fractured identity” with a raw and authentic approach. The band worked closely with longtime collaborator Quinn Cyrankiewicz (Royal Tusk) at The Audio Department in Edmonton, Alberta, to bring this project to life.

The EP was meticulously mixed by Tim Creviston and mastered by Stuart McKillop (Rain City Recorders) to achieve the desired sound. Gauthier explained that their latest single, “A New Type of Grey”, delves into the complexities of viewing the world in a binary manner, emphasizing the importance of finding hope amidst uncertainties and insecurities. The accompanying music video holds personal significance for Gauthier, drawing from his experiences as an indigenous individual and former cultural support worker for Indigenous youth.

Gauthier shared his gratitude towards the cast and crew who dedicated time and effort to bring the vision for the music video to fruition. The band’s unique sound blends elements of post-hardcore, pop-punk, and alt-rock, establishing a distinctive musical identity. Moreover, their collaboration with renowned songwriter Tom Denney on “Blood for Blood” adds depth and dimension to their artistic repertoire.

Calling All Captains have built a solid following through national Canadian and U.S. headline tours and memorable festival appearances. Their upcoming shows promise to captivate audiences across various Canadian cities, showcasing their energetic and dynamic live performances.
