Camp Rock devotees received exciting news last week as the confirmation of a third installment in the cherished franchise was announced. The upcoming sequel will continue with the Jonas Brothers as part of the cast, drawing in fans who have eagerly awaited more content from the Camp Rock series. However, while the JoBros are set to return, Camp Rock 3 will not feature some of the original main characters from the first two films.

In a recent conversation with E! News, Alyson Stoner, known for portraying the role of Caitlyn Geller in the first two Camp Rock movies, revealed that they have not received any details about the forthcoming third film, indicating that their involvement in the project is uncertain. Although Stoner expressed their excitement by stating, “I haven’t heard anything beyond that, but that sounds exciting,” it appears they may not be part of the sequel.

Although Stoner won’t be reprising their role in the upcoming movie, the dancer and author shared their perspective on the potential direction of Camp Rock 3, drawing parallels to another successful Disney Channel Original Movie franchise. Speculating about the plot, Stoner suggested, “I’m guessing it’ll be similar to what they did with High School Musical, where maybe they introduce a new generation.” They view this approach positively, adding, “That’s what I’m assuming. But cool. Sounds great.”

Apart from Stoner, another familiar face missing from the upcoming sequel will be Demi Lovato, who played the lead role of Mitchie Torres in the original Camp Rock films. While Lovato has not been confirmed to make an appearance in Camp Rock 3, she will serve as one of the producers alongside the Jonas Brothers. Maria Canals-Barrera, known for her portrayal of Mitchie’s mom, Connie, will return, adding a touch of continuity to the new film.

According to a report by Deadline on September 17, Camp Rock 3 has been given the green light for release on Disney Channel and Disney+. The movie will reportedly follow Connect 3, the band featuring the Jonas Brothers’ characters, as they search for a new opening act for a significant reunion tour, leading them back to the familiar grounds of Camp Rock to explore the next big star in the music industry. Fans can anticipate thrilling new developments in the Camp Rock universe with the third installment.
