When it comes to Austin’s Spoon, many tend to categorize them as an indie rock or art pop band. However, Dallas vocalist Chris J. Norwood has chosen to explore Spoon’s funkier side. On September 26, Norwood & the Knockdown Dragout will unveil a soulful, R&B-infused rendition of “I Turn My Camera On,” a song from 2005 where Spoon delved into Prince-esque styles. Norwood and his band, known for showcasing their soulful prowess on their previous album Knockdown Dragout in 2024, have put their unique twist on “Camera,” infusing it with a laid-back groove and soulful, bluesy horns reminiscent of Memphis. Fans can experience this live on October 2 in Dallas.

The band will be opening for J & the Causeways at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, at Sundown at Granada, located at 3520 Greenville Ave in Dallas. Tickets are priced at $24 and can be purchased through Prekindle.com.

Fans of Cardi B will be pleased to know that she has achieved a Guinness World Record with her album drone delivery in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She is set to perform tracks from her new project ‘Am I The Drama?’ on March 7 in Dallas. In another news development, tour dates for D4vd have been removed from websites following the discovery of a girl’s body in Los Angeles; reports suggest that the vehicle was registered to d4vd, also known as David Anthony Burke, aged 20.
