Ghost unveiled their latest studio album, SKELETÁ, on April 25 under the Loma Vista Recordings label. Spearheaded by the hit single “Satanize,” the album secured their first No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. With 86,000 units sold in the initial sales week ending on Friday, May 1, this album marked the band’s best debut sales week, predominantly driven by traditional album sales, with a significant portion stemming from vinyl sales, including swiftly sold-out colored vinyl editions.
The ensemble also presented a captivating limited edition version of the album, exclusively available at Target. Residing on unique Violet Mist vinyl and packaged in a silver-foiled SKELETÁ box complete with an exclusive GHOST T-shirt design and collectible Papa V overlay, this special release can be pre-ordered or personally acquired in-store commencing on Halloween.
Moreover, SKELETÁ also rose to the top spots on multiple U.S. and international charts, achieving the title of the highest-selling hard rock album on vinyl since 1991 as recorded by Luminate. Similarly, this marked Ghost’s first hard rock album to grace the top of the Billboard 200 chart in four years, becoming their ninth studio endeavor to achieve this feat, with their Infestissumam album hitting No. 28 in their chart journey’s initiation in 2013.
Though Ghost’s previous album, Impera, saw success upon its release in 2022, debuting at No. 1 across various U.S. album rankings, the band’s latest work is carving its own niche in the rock sphere with SKELETÁ’s chart-topping accomplishments. Building on past achievements, Ghost continues to cement their position in the rock scene and captivate audiences globally with their enthralling musical offerings.
