Indigenous musician hosts event before releasing new track

Shooting parts of the music video at Chapman’s Gas Bar in Fort William First Nation added a personal touch to the project, as Kae wanted to feature a location she frequented and supported. The choice of venue and the involvement of local talent, such as Kai Davey-Bellin, added depth and authenticity to the music video.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind Do You Think of Me, Kae revealed that the song delves into themes of a strained relationship. The process of recording the song while in Toronto, as part of a residency with CBC and SOCAN, allowed Kae to channel her emotions and experiences into her music, resulting in a raw and authentic output.
