Def Leppard will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Def Leppard is set to receive a star on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 9. The event will feature guest remarks from notable figures like Jon Bon Jovi and Universal Music Enterprises president and CEO Bruce Resnikoff, as reported by Billboard. Acting as the emcee for the ceremony will be SiriusXM radio host Bob Buchmann.
Welcoming Def Leppard to this prestigious landmark, Ana Martinez, the producer of the Walk of Fame, expressed pride in honoring the band. She emphasized that Def Leppard has cemented its place not just in music history but now on one of the most iconic sidewalks in the world.
In recognition of their musical contributions, the British rock group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, with the induction speech delivered by Queen guitarist Brian May. Def Leppard boasts two diamond-certified albums in the United States, namely “Hysteria” with 12 million copies sold and “Pyromania” with 10 million copies sold. The band has celebrated significant chart success, with albums like “Hysteria” and “Adrenalize” reaching the top of the Billboard 200, and the hit single “Love Bites” securing the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
In addition to this Walk of Fame recognition, Def Leppard is actively working on their 13th studio album. Joe Elliott, the band’s lead vocalist, shared plans for releasing new material ahead of upcoming tour dates. The strategy involves unveiling new songs periodically, with the album slated for a late 2026 or early 2027 release. This approach will coincide with their performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in February, marking a 12-show residency.
Despite their extensive career, Def Leppard continues to engage with their audience by delivering fresh music and live performances. They recently collaborated with Tom Morello, the acclaimed guitarist from Rage Against the Machine, on the track “Just Like 73,” which resonates with the band’s formative years. Additionally, their collaborative effort with London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra titled “Drastic Symphonies” was released in May 2023. This project features orchestral versions of classic Def Leppard songs and rare tracks, available in various formats for fans to enjoy.
