Legendary guitarist Ronnie Wood has confirmed that the Rolling Stones are gearing up for the release of a new album. Following their 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, which was produced by Andrew Watt, the rock band’s latest project is already in the can and set for release in the near future. Wood, who was speaking at the iconic RS No9 store in Carnaby Street, revealed, “Yes, you will be getting a new album next year. It is done.”

During the event where he was signing copies of his double anthology, Fearless, Wood also dropped hints about potential tour dates for the Stones. The band, which includes iconic members like Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, is considering hitting the road again. Wood expressed his excitement about the possibility of getting back out there, stating, “Yes we are hoping to do some dates. Hopefully we will be back out there, but I am still waiting to find out myself.”

The band’s producer, Andrew Watt, who was thrilled to collaborate with the rock legends once again, compared the experience to working for Batman. He disclosed, “I’ve said it before, but it’s like working for Batman. When the tongue is up in the air, you just go… I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.”

According to Richards’ son, Marlon Richards, a new album is indeed in the works. Confirming that the band is currently in the recording process in Chiswick, West London, Marlon mentioned that they maintain their unconventional working hours from afternoon until early morning. He noted, “They’re in town right now, recording. They’re in Chiswick or somewhere like that; I think they’re nearly done. They still maintain these ridiculous hours: after lunch until, like, two in the morning. I’d rather be somewhere else at that time of night! Unless you’re in it, it’s pretty boring.”

With their recent Grammy win for Best Rock Album, the Stones are reportedly fueled by the recognition and are keen on delivering another stellar project. Marlon emphasized that the band is excited about the prospect of releasing a follow-up album. Furthermore, there are murmurs about potential tour plans in Europe next year, hinting at a possible resurgence of the band on the live music scene.
