Live music fans in Connecticut are in for a treat this October with a lineup of exciting shows across Hamden, New Haven, Norwalk, and Old Saybrook. Kicking things off on October 10th at Space Ballroom in Hamden is the noise rock band Pile. Hailing from Boston, Pile has been making waves since the late 2000s and recently released their ninth album, “Sunshine and Balance Beams”, showcasing their raw talent and high-energy performances. The show will also feature Chicago alt-pop artist Nnamdï as the opening act.

Moving on to New Haven on October 17th, Cafe Nine will play host to Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Mickey Blurr, whose music incorporates elements of punk, jazz, and R&B. This promises to be an eclectic and unique musical experience, with local acts Ports of Spain, The Problem With Kids Today, and Qween Kong rounding out the lineup. Attendees will even receive a download code for an unreleased single from Ports of Spain’s performance.

Fans of ’90s alt-rock shouldn’t miss Everclear’s show at Toad’s Place in New Haven on October 23rd. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic album “Sparkle and Fade”, Everclear will take the stage with hits like “Santa Monica” and “Heartspark Dollarsign”. Joining them on the bill are fellow alt-rockers Local H and Sponge for a night of nostalgia and rock ‘n’ roll.

On October 25th, District Music Hall in Norwalk will welcome Indigo De Souza, a rising star in the indie pop and alternative rock scene. Originally from Danbury, Indigo De Souza’s latest album “Precipice” has garnered critical acclaim for its artistic and emotive sound. This homecoming show promises to showcase her talent and offer fans a glimpse into her unique musical world.

Rounding out the month on October 28th at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook is instrumental rock act Los Straitjackets. Known for their surf rock sound and distinctive luchador masks, the band brings a fun and energetic vibe to the stage. Collaborating with rock legend Nick Lowe, Los Straitjackets recently released their album “Somos”, offering fans a taste of their lively and vibrant music.

With a diverse lineup of live music events happening throughout October, music lovers in Connecticut have a variety of shows to choose from, spanning different genres and styles.
