It has been an eventful week in the world of music, with a plethora of new releases spanning various genres such as hardcore, punk, metal, rock, and experimental sounds. From aggressive and chaotic metalcore to politically charged punk rock, there is something for every music enthusiast to discover and enjoy.

Silent Pendulum Records has introduced the first single and accompanying video from BORE’s upcoming album, ”Feral.” The track, titled “Hopeless Poet,” is a cacophony of mathy and discordant metalcore that was produced by Adam Cichocki at Timber Studio and filmed by Sean Ageman of Washed Up Media.

The anti-capitalist metalcore band, SPIT LOCKET, has made a bold statement with their self-titled track, “Spit Locket.” Clocking in at just under two minutes, the song sends a powerful message with lyrics like “we work / you play / you leave / we stay,” before declaring, “keep me in your spit locket / it is a name you won’t forget.” This chaotic and aggressive track emanates a fierce anti-capitalist ethos that is unmistakably Portland in nature.

In a surprising turn of events, the Philadelphia hardcore punk band, INK & DAGGER, has announced their comeback with three reunion shows scheduled at the First Unitarian Church. Accompanied by PAINT IT BLACK, DEADGUY, and SOUL GLO on different nights, the band will also be reissuing several of their classic albums in the coming months. The anticipation for their deluxe box set release in early 2026, titled “Ink & Dagger: The Complete Works,” is palpable among fans of the genre.

DESTINY BOND, a hardcore band hailing from Denver, has recently dropped their latest single, “Out Loud,” along with “Mind to the Mirror,” in preparation for the release of their upcoming LP, “The Love.” The band describes these tracks as a one-two punch that encapsulates their evolving sound as they gear up for the LP’s debut. The energetic and dynamic nature of these songs promises an electrifying listening experience for their audience.
