Previewing the Bye Week for Mizzou Football

With the bye week keeping Mizzou Football off the field, it’s time to embrace other activities to fill the void left by our absent Tigers. From savoring the beginning of October baseball to cheering on the Mizzou Volleyball team, there is no shortage of ways to stay entertained during this football hiatus.

For Chicago native and Cubs enthusiast Matthew Gustafson, October baseball takes center stage as the Cubs gear up for game one of the NLDS against the Brewers. Meanwhile, Mizzou Volleyball’s critical matches at Hearnes this weekend draw the attention of Sammy Stava, who will also be covering high school football and enjoying some playoff baseball during the bye week.

While many find solace in following other Mizzou sports during this break, Karen Steger has a different plan. From attending Fall Ball games to celebrating the release of Taylor Swift’s new album, her schedule is packed with fun activities in the absence of Mizzou Football.

Dwelling on the lighter moments of Mizzou Football, the team reminisces about some of the season’s most amusing occurrences. From Beau Pribula’s erratic passes to bizarre calls during the Louisiana game, the Tigers’ season has been full of unexpected and comical moments.

As the weather shifts towards colder temperatures (even if it’s not happening just yet), it’s officially soup season. Josh Matejka has his sights set on spicy turkey chili and zuppa toscana, while Sammy Stava craves buffalo chicken soup. Karen Steger, however, opts for tomato basil soup and clam chowder when the weather finally cools down.

Despite the strict focus on non-football-related activities, the team reluctantly delves into one college football question. Excited to root for the Gators against Texas or keep an eye on the NIU Huskies game, each member of the team finds a game to watch during the bye week that excites them.

As the bye week rolls around, Mizzou fans are left to find their own entertainment in the absence of live football. Whether indulging in other sports, culinary delights, or music concerts, there is no shortage of ways to pass the time until Mizzou Football returns to the field.
