In a recent interview with HTV 10, attorney Matt Ory presented new video evidence that challenges the alleged involvement of former LSU football player Kyren Lacy in a fatal crash that occurred in December 2024. The video showed Lacy’s lime green Dodge Charger traveling approximately 72 yards away from the crash site, contradicting the narrative that he was responsible for causing the accident.

According to reports, Lacy was accused of crossing the centerline in a no-pass zone in an attempt to overtake slower vehicles, ultimately forcing two drivers to swerve to avoid colliding with him. This chain of events led to a collision between the other two drivers, resulting in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall, a passenger in one of the vehicles. Lacy allegedly fled the scene without offering assistance or contacting the authorities, leading to charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death, and reckless operation of a vehicle.

During the interview, Ory highlighted footage showing Lacy’s car entering the camera frame after the initial collision between the other cars. He emphasized that although Lacy did pass four vehicles, he had returned to his lane of travel and was 72.6 yards behind the vehicles at the time of impact. Ory stressed that Lacy was not at fault for the accident as it had been previously portrayed.

Additionally, Ory presented body cam footage showing a police officer instructing a witness on what to include in their report and questioned why the passenger in Lacy’s car was not contacted for information. He raised concerns about the lack of communication with the passenger, who had a clear view of the incident and could have provided valuable insights into what transpired.

Following Lacy’s tragic death by suicide in April, his father, Kenny, emphasized the importance of open communication with children about mental health issues. He urged parents to create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable discussing their emotions and seeking help when needed. Kenny stressed the significance of recognizing the signs of mental health struggles, even if they seem minor, and not dismissing them as insignificant.

The circumstances surrounding Kyren Lacy’s alleged involvement in the fatal crash have raised questions about the accuracy of the initial investigation and the portrayal of events leading up to the tragic accident. Attorney Matt Ory’s presentation of new evidence challenges the existing narrative and sheds light on a different perspective regarding Lacy’s role in the incident. As the case continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the complexities involved in determining fault and responsibility in accidents of this nature.
